Ten on ... Thursday

Oops.

I was home sick on Tuesday, so no blogging got done. My apologies for the delay!
  1. I am loving "United State of Pop 2009," D.J. Earworm's mashup of Billboard's Top 25 pop songs of 2009. Yes, all 25 songs. Check it out; I think it's genius.
  2. Curried carrot soup. This year, I want to continue experimenting with new flavors and treating myself kindly when it comes to food. That means delicious and nutritious. So far this year, I've made that soup, chicken with poblano cream sauce, sea salt brownies, roasted garlic cauliflower and my personal favorite, black bean tortilla pie. More to come, for sure!
  3. Wanna participate in a twist on a book club? A friend and I have challenged each other to read two plays a month in 2010. Each month, we'll blog about our impressions, book-club style, and invite others to join in the online discussion. Interested? I'll keep you posted.
  4. If money were no object, I would have a pair of boots for every day in the month. At least February.
  5. I've been a little bit down lately, because I felt so crappy all of December, then started to feel better, and BAM, over the weekend caught another cold. I haven't made it to the gym yet this week, but my workout gear is in the car and I'm headed there after work. I love the way I feel after a good workout, and I miss it horribly when I'm not able to make it. Hopefully, tonight will be the start of my return to the routine.
  6. The search for a car continues. I've decided not to make four-wheel-drive a necessity, and it has opened a lot of possibilities. It's the first time in a long time that I've chosen a car without having to please anyone else with my decision, and I'll be honest ... I kinda like it.
  7. I am up to date with all my bills. All of them. Today is payday, and I still had money in my wallet. I'm not perfect by any means, but I am doing a much better job of knowing where my money is, and where it's going. It's a good feeling.
  8. I think I'm going to paint my apartment this spring. Mike and Rae helped me think through colors when they were in for an overnight in November, and Shakespeare shared her opinions a few weeks back. So all of you who have offered to lend a paintbrush-laden hand? You're about to be called up.
  9. After two years of focusing on my health, I still don't drink enough water.
  10. I've been at my job for three years. I still like it, most of the time. One of my favorite co-workers is leaving; tomorrow is his last day. It's the first time someone has left our team, and I miss him already. He's a fantastic Web designer, with a knack for thinking of new ways to "wow" people with my words. There are far too few people like David in the corporate jungle, and I wish him only the best.

Might I suggest track 4. Notorious B.I.G. vs. Miley Cyrus.

RE #6: At least shoot for front wheel drive. They will get you almost anywhere you need to go.

RE #7: Keep up the good work!

RE #8: I wasn't asked about color. I feel left out.

Rice, I will have to check that when I get home. Sounds groovy!

Janie, re 6, I will definitely do front-wheel, which leaves me open to a lot of awesome stuff! re 7, I will, I will! re 8, When you were here, I didn't know I was painting! What colors do you think I should go with?

Green. Any and all shades of it. I LOVE green. It is the only color that is both happy and soothing at the same time. Every room in our house has at least one shade of green in it. Some have several. I highly recommend it.

I should've known, Janie. Green, with a side of green, right? ;)
